yoga is a complete system that will offer any practitioner a slew of benefits; better physical fitness and a calmer mind are just the beginning. yoga is an ancient practice rooted in self discovery using physical movement, breath, and philosophy. western science is just now beginning to understand the benefits of a regular yoga practice, especially when combined with breath work and meditation. when curating practices, i blend yoga, ayurveda, pranayama (breath-work) and meditation. i fully believe in slow yoga (or "slowga") and lead a slower paced class but that doesn't mean i won't make you sweat if that is what you are looking to achieve. i also like to design my personally curated classes with your dosha and the ayurvedic time clock (are you practicing morning, noon, or night?) in mind. pranayama and meditation also play an important part in my classes and i make sure to include them always. i noticed wonderful benefits from my physical practice, but after adding in pranayama and meditation, my practice grew exponentially. as i hope it will for you as well.
